IPC-A-600 Certification & Recertification Training Course

Course Description

Anyone who wants to renew their IPC-A-600 Standards Expert Certification must take this one and a half (1,5) day. To maintain your 24-month certification, you must re-certify before your certification expires. To enhance an individual’s skill and ability to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable printed boards, IPC-A-600 Certified Standards Expert (CSE) training aims to increase their understanding and review study of the accept/reject criteria for all three classes of Printed Boards.

A certificate must be renewed every 24 months. IPC-A-600 Instructor Certification can complete a recertification Training Course within six months before the expiration of the certificate.

Certification

After the Course fulfilment, trainees will be subjected to open and closed book written examinations. Prospects for CSE certification must complete three exams:

1) The Enhanced Policy and Procedures Exam,

2) General Knowledge Exam

3) Standard Endorsement Exam.

The General Knowledge Exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. It is a closed-book test. The 70 multiple-choice questions on the Standard-Specific exam are open-book. A candidate must finish the exam within two and a half hours.
An IPC-A-600 Certified Standards Expert (CSE) Certification valid for two (2) years is awarded to students who complete this Course. An appropriate recertification course for Certified Standards Expert (CSE) who have previously achieved their Certified Standards Expert (CSE) certification within the last two years is available to students who have previously achieved their CSE certification within the last two years a relevant Recertification course/training is available.

  • Anyone who wishes to renew their IPC certificate and is currently designated as a Certified Standards Expert (CSE) with a valid certificate.

Module 1 – Introduction

The general content of this compulsory part of the IPC-A-600J applies to all other sections. To be certified to any additional knowledge modules, this module must be successfully completed prior to exams.

Module 2 – Externally Observable Characteristics

The acceptability standards for externally visual requirements of the substrate are presented in this knowledge module.

  • Printed Board Edges
  • Base Material
  • Surface and Subsurface
  • Solder Coatings and Holes Printed Contacts and Marking
  • Solder Mask, Pattern Definition and Flatness

Module 3 – Internally Observable Characteristics

The acceptability standards for externally visual requirements of the substrate are presented in this knowledge module.

  • Dielectric Materials and Conductive Patterns
  • Plated Through Holes

Module 4 – Miscellaneous and Cleanliness

Internal observable conditions of the substrate must meet the acceptability criteria in this knowledge module.
